TOPIK Exam Guide

The Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) is a standardized test designed to measure the Korean language proficiency of non-native speakers. It is widely recognized by Korean universities, employers, and immigration authorities.

University Admission
Most Korean universities require TOPIK Level 3-4 for undergraduate programs and Level 4-5 for graduate programs.
Scholarships
GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) and many university scholarships require or give preference to applicants with TOPIK scores.
Employment
Korean companies often require TOPIK Level 4+ for foreign employees. Some government jobs require Level 5-6.
Visa & Immigration
TOPIK scores can be used for visa applications, including the F-2 points-based visa and naturalization.
Language School Placement
Korean language institutes use TOPIK scores to place students in appropriate class levels.

TOPIK Speaking Test
TOPIK Speaking is a separate test that evaluates Korean speaking ability. It was introduced in 2023 and is conducted via computer.
